Our journey is rooted in decades of experience, a passion for detail, and a commitment to excellence. Based in the heart of Somerset, we are proud to serve clients who value quality and individuality, creating pieces that stand the test of time.

My passion for woodworking began at 19, when I started an apprenticeship in carpentry and bench joinery. Over the next nine years, I worked as a carpenter and project manager on building sites, specializing in renovations and restorations. A unique opportunity then took me to the hills behind Cannes, France, where I used my joinery expertise to craft everything from bespoke windows and doors to custom kitchens for a villa.

On returning to the UK, I trained as a cabinetmaker, joining a firm that produced high-end cabinetry for West London homes. After years of refining my skills and building a strong foundation in design and craftsmanship, I launched Designed Woodwork. I spent seven years running the business in London before relocating to Frome, Somerset, where we continue to create bespoke, handcrafted pieces for our clients.
